Organizer and member of numerous international and national conferences. He was a member of the Scientific Committee ECOS annual international conference since 1999, being the Chairman of its 17th Edition ECOS 2004, held in Mexico.
Among the projects he has directed include the Analysis and Optimization of Processes for Refining and Petrochemicals (Exergy Method) and the Development of Technology diabatic distillation (distillation with internal heat integration). The lines of research are focused on the model of the 3 E's (Energy, Economy, Ecology), sustainable development of the oil industry, electricity, petrochemical and process in general, such as:
• Diabatic desi.
• Heat pumps.
• Fuel Cells.
• Cogeneration, trigeneration and polygeneration.
• Integrated gasification combined cycle.
• Alternate processes for hydrogen production: thermolysis of steam cracking of hydrogen
sulphide, reformation redirected, plasmolysis, etc.
• Kalina Cycle.
• Fuel Cells.
• Simulation of process steady state and dynamic simulation.
• Exergy, exergoeconomic and exergoecologyc analysis.
• Process integration (pinch generalized method, water pinch, pinch hydrogen).
• Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
• Exergy Life Cycle Analysis (ELCA).
He has authored over 150 articles in refereed journals, and has about 250 citations to them, has written numerous book chapters, edited two books, plus a considerable number of technical reports of projects in which he has participated and / or directed. He has authored over 60 technical articles and book chapters published in forums and national and international journals.
